Have been listening to more ARASHI songs the past 2 weeks (because 90% of their whole discography is on spotify now! Well, if there is anything to be thankful for their hiatus, this is definitely one of it..), and I have discovered SO MANY great songs my ears just cant get enough of them :') I have never felt so hooked to any groups' songs as much as this before.. Not with NEWS (with whom I was having quite a fangirl fever myself last year), or much less HSJ (ok well, perhaps my 12-years-ago self was, but definitely not now.. or recently).

Well, don't get me wrong because there are quite a number of NEWS songs that have become my personal earworms too, but just not this many... I'll list my fav NEWS songs in a separate post too.. When I'm not too lazy to write haha

Anyway.. was wondering what about Arashi's songs that is so different from NEWS. Disclaimer: absolutely no offense to NEWS.. this post is not by any means to be condescending towards NEWS whatsoever. After all, NEWS used to be my no.1 fandom for quite the most part of my recent fangirl craze. I do still feel great affinity towards them.. Like when Massu/ Koyashige are mentioned during JE events/ any variety shows I happen to be watching. Oh, and Koyashige are starting a new show (Zenryoku Making). I'm so going to watch them, when the subs are out :p. OK IM DIGRESSING! But yes, I will perhaps keep comparing my current feverish infatuation towards Arashi with NEWS, simply because of the small pool of fandom I have ever entered. I mean, I have only stanned these few groups..

So yeah.. still trying to understand what about Arashi's songs that is so much more captivating than NEWS'. Perhaps, I was first and foremost hooked by their last album "This is Arashi" Quite a bit of the songs in there are not quite as Japanese as the other albums. I mean almost all are literally produced and written by western songwriters. They felt different.. Slightly less warm but more funky, more beat, more daring and 100x sexier... <3 too bad we didn't get to enjoy this much earlier.

Ok, the preamble has certainly run way much longer than I intended (pardon my vomit of rants, thanks to not having anyone to discuss with.. it's a closet fandom for me here, after all..). Let's jump right in to my list..updated 9 May 2021
